Boys Noize ‘Power’ (Released: October 2009)

Boys Noize latest release ‘Power’ hit stores in October 2009 and was globally distributed. In anticipation of it’s arrival a 12″ was released by Boyz Noise containing both Starter and Jeffer. Following later in October were two powerful remixes of Jeffer by Para One and Modeselektor!

Alex Ridha or Boys Noize previous release ‘Oi Oi Oi‘ is full of many memorable tracks, but lacks the feel of an album. And although ‘Oi Oi Oi’ is heavily equipped with powerful tracks and club bangers, the cd itself is more of a compilation of singles than a full album. On the contrary, Boys Noize latest release not only contains ‘Power’ but it shows the importance of balance and structure.

Without organization, ‘Power’ is messy and trying to control it is as impossible as a construction working attempting to train a tornado to demolish houses. That being said, the structure of Power and Ridha’s ability to organize tracks together and to create an overall sense of even flow is flawless in this latest album.

Opening with ‘Gax’ I feel the electricity of the album slowly leaking out as the doors of ‘Power’ are open. As the listener is stunned in awe and overwhelmed with anticipation for the rest of the album, ‘Kontact Me’ the second track comes roaring on and demands “Come With Me!” As it then goes on to say “Do You Remember?”  How could we forget? Anyone  who has been to a Boys Noize performance never forgets the energy that is contained within the conducting DJ and Producer Boys Noize!

And anyone who has seen Alex perform, or had the pleasure of listening to his mixes has always known that he is not only a powerful artist but also a well-balanced DJ. Which is why the structuring of this CD came as no surprise and was highly appreciated. Like a story with a great beginning, middle and End this album takes us on a journey that we will never forget.

Three of my personal favorite tracks are grouped together: ‘Starter’, ‘Jeffer’ and ‘Transmission,’ but don’t get me wrong the album is full of many great songs and I truly believe in the importance of hearing this piece as a whole! I highly recommend checking out those Jeffer remixes, which are also available to purchase now!
