An original remix done in 2003 by Felix Da Houscat, edited by Tommie Sunshine today as an EXCLUSIVE gift to The Bopper Nation. I guess now would be a good time to mention that I come from a background of rock, probably why I really enjoy the electro n the dirty..but also why I have a broad range of taste when it comes to music. Now Iggy Pop is a legendary figure in the biz..just google|youtube him and you’ll find yourself in awe. Iggy&The Stooges-I wanna Be Your Dog. Remember where your roots come from Boppers..all this beautiful electronic music you hear today goes deep back and i love when they touch on it directly with remixes like this. Enjoy
The Disco Villains. There are a lot of things to be said about these two guys and their dirtty music. First off prepare to bleed as their sound waves start drilling holes into your head. For the electronic junkie who loves to hear that new spin on a song they already love, you’ll find an infinite supply of remixes. They recently just released an EP “We Just Came To Get the Party Started,” which is available on itunes, beatport, amazon etc. I have available for the hungry a teaser from that EP as well as their Nightdrugs remix. I also figured I’d throw in their remix of Tommie Sunshine- Dance Among the Ruins as well as two bonus remixes of Hustlin’ and B. Rich-make me dance.
If you don’t know who Tommie Sunshine is you have been living under an electronic rock for a long time. Besides his involvement with many artist, including Felix Da Housecat and a song you all know, Silver Screen; he has infiltrated into all types of music and edited and remixed songs from various artists such as AC Slater, Boys Noize, skream, Chromeo, Fall Out Boy, Major Lazer and the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. A DJ and a Producer that doesn’t discriminate when it comes to good music and one who shares a lot of his work on Soundcloud is someone you’d be foolish not to be familair with. The names of works I’ve listed haven’t even broke past the outer layer of an apple. As a deadly starter-kit for you newbies and as a reminder of his greatness we offer you his 9 remixes for 09′ [Brooklyn Fire mixtape 002].’ If you’re in New York City during September be sure to catch him and Felix live.
Tommie is a man the Boppers should all be familiar with. I hope to feature more of him on the website. I recommend following his soundcloud he is one of the more generous DJ’s out there with over 100′s of tracks available for listen and download on his soundcloud. I helped myself to a couple tracks, one of them including the famous Silver Screen which all the Boppers should know. Keep it real Tommie Sunshine
