Opposites Attract

Yo Boppers.

mercurius fm mondays Opposites Attract

Here’s a post with some house & techno classics. First up we have a techno banger from 1997 by CZR. Its a simple ghetto track and goes pretty hard. The beat is still fresh, especially these days with artists like Congorock and Diplo. Definitely check this out.

CZR – For Your Ass

-

Finally, we have a track by Together aka Thomas Bangalter & DJ Falcon. Fans of this site shouldn’t need an introduction to either. This track comes from the early 2000s when loopy sampled disco choruses were all the rage… well I guess they still are (quack). Check out this huge track for a bit of history..

Percussion

Yo Boppers.

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving weekend. Here’s some more jams to warm you up.

mercurius fm mondays DJOKO Percussion

To start things off, we have a jam from way back in 1991 by Joey Negro. This track displays the “classic” 90′s House Music sound quite well. Lots of percussion and a nice 808 beat. Enjoy!

Finally, here’s a track by half-Daft, Thomas Bangalter. A great energetic cut from his record label, Roule. I always loved the drums on this track. Really lots of fun and good display of minimalist design in music.

Spinal Scratch

Word up Boppers.

Another Monday, another couple of great tax.

mercurius fm mondays Spinal Scratch

First track is a great chill tune by Alan Braxe, with his friends Fred Falke and Savage. Very beautiful track with lots of syncopation happening. I was in love with this track when it first came out. They released it on Alan Braxe’s own Vulture Music using a 1 off alias, Defender.

Defender - Bliss

In closing, we have a very tough House track by Thomas Bangalter. Filled with lots of scratch fills and a fantastic working of an old jazz sample. I could see this one still working today and would definitely play it out.

House Heavy

Bonjour Boppers.

I decided to go House heavy on this one again. I guess I always do, but this stuff really is. From Chicago to Paris this post really goes full circle.

Found this while googling robot god.

Firstly, we have a huge disco stomper by robot-god, Thomas Bangalter… This is a very fun and big track, which is still highly playable in modern sets due to the simplicity in production. I really enjoy the build because it gives a very large energy without sounding big room (Zzz..).

So, Shake & Pop. If you’ve never heard this song, just get out. Leave. Just kidding, listen and discover. Shake & Pop is a timeless club anthem. Grimey techno at its best with a simple and fun hook. Here we have the DJ Sneak remix which adds a ridiculous kick drum and locks in the House vibe on it.

Thats it folks! Short and sweet this time.

Circa 1997

Hey Bopperz!

This week I’m dropping some House bangers on you (wait, didn’t I do that last week too?). These are both tracks that I would personally use in my sets, even TODAY. These kick drums hit hard.

First, we have another classic from Thomas Bangalter… Do I really need to say more? This track is so rad and energetic. You can hear the vinyl crackle from when he sampled it.

Finally, a classic from Romanthony. The voice behind Daft Punk’s “One More Time” and “Too Long”. He also has various classic House cuts. This track doesn’t really display his singing talent, but instead is just ridiculously good production. This track was made circa 1997.

MERCURIUS FM MONDAY

Hello fellow BOPPERS. This is my first post on Boppernation. My name is Mercurius FM and I am a producer/DJ/remixist. I’ve been brought on to this site to help get some different views and tracks on board. I hope to contribute and help this site grow with my insane collection of dance music.

So without further delay, each week I’m planning to post house classics with a tilt on the filtered/disco sound we (I) love. I will make a point of never posting 128kbs mp3s (since everyone has those) and focus on posting 200+VBR – 320KBS mp3s only.
