Super bass

Hey Boppers.

mercurius fm mondays Super bass

We’re starting your week off with a Paul Johnson remix of CZR. We all know this classic tune (and if you don’t, now you do), Paul just gives it some extra punch and loopiness for maximum dancefloor satisfaction.

Next up we have a mega bassline remix of Sebastien Leger by Superfunk. This track takes the classic loop from the original song and then pumps it up with some jack drums and funky disco bass. Good tune to drop even now a days. Timeless sound.

Everyone Is Someone In LA

Hey yo Boppers.

Late post I know… I was out and about in LA this weekend and forgot to prepare my post! Oh well, to make up for it I’ve got 2 really slick jams for you.

mercurius fm mondays Everyone Is Someone In LA

The first track is by Sébastien Léger off his 2nd LP, King Size. The drums and baseline in this track are completely House and completely rad. Thoroughly enjoyable groove. The intro is weird, but yeah, the rest of it is gold. Maybe I’ll make an edit of it…

Sébastien Léger - Space Sandwich

The next track is by Bopper favorite, Eric Prydz. It’s an 8+ minute epic from his debut release on his own label, PRYDA. Very big sounding and synthy. Epic drops and builds. Very good production from 2004. Also, quite a lot of Moroder flair thrown in here.

Till next time!

Don’t Assume

Word up Boppers.

For this week’s post we’ll go French again with some old school movers and shakers.

First off is the now-world-famous Alan Braxe with his classic House guitar anthem, Rubicon. Alan Braxe is most well known for his hit single Time Out and production work with Thomas Bangalter for Stardust’s Music Sounds Better With You. This track was also a favorite among fans. It also features bass by Braxe’s long time compadre, Fred Falke.

Next, we go even further back to a man who is one of the founders of French House… Etienne de Crecy. Although he is better known now for his much more distinctly “tech” sound (see Super Discount 2), he started off making slow funk and jazz grooves (see Super Discount). This cut happens to be a remix by SebastiEn Leger from Etienne’s own solo album Tempovision. This mix is a bit more abstract than Leger’s usual but is still quite superb.
