Prior to Bopper Nation, Schizofonics had found its way into my ear early in 2009 and upon Bopper Nations first awakening Schizofonics dropped some sick tunes and mega support. Now it’s 2010 and Schizofonics drops a remix of Da Funk to remember. Now we’ve all heard Daft Punk remixes and there will always be Daft remixes but this Schizo rework gets me moving as it crunches its way across the floor.
Schizofonics - Da SchizofunkEspecially at 2 minutes 36 in, man that high pitched shit always makes me lose my mind and gives me that natural high while I’m grooving and then Da Funks synth comes back in to take it home. Enough hype listen for yourself and let the music be your ride.
and in case you don’t know about Schizo yet..
Schizofonics - Blipstick
“Schizofonics are Shortie and M. 2 DJs/Producers from Dublin, Ireland. Since forming in ’08 the boys have been gaining a lot of attention. Summer ’09 saw their remix of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ hit the number 1 spot on Hype Machine’s chart on 2 separate occasions and it’s now a regular feature in sets from people like Basement Jaxx, Kissy Sellout and Annie Mac.
They followed this up with a dancehall infused banger featuring Fool’s Gold’s Lady Chann which quickly gained a lot of pace over the internet and found it’s way onto Dim Mak’s soon to be released Mix CD by Mustard Pimp and their club favorite remix of Count & Sinden’s ‘Mega’.
Their latest offering sees them take on yet another classic and put the Schizo stamp on it. Barely a week old, the tune is already being played by the likes of Detboi and longtime supporter Kissy Sellout.
’10 sees the release of Schizofonic’s debut EP ‘EightyEight’ on Mr.Jones records. A 5 track EP featuring 4 original tracks showing off their range of production skills and music influences. Oh and there’s also the small matter of a remix on there by Brighton’s High Rankin.”
