Super bass

Hey Boppers.

mercurius fm mondays Super bass

We’re starting your week off with a Paul Johnson remix of CZR. We all know this classic tune (and if you don’t, now you do), Paul just gives it some extra punch and loopiness for maximum dancefloor satisfaction.

Next up we have a mega bassline remix of Sebastien Leger by Superfunk. This track takes the classic loop from the original song and then pumps it up with some jack drums and funky disco bass. Good tune to drop even now a days. Timeless sound.

Sweet Beats

Hello Boppers!

A new week, a couple new beats. (well, not so new)

Our first track is by Chicago based House producer, Paul Johnson. This is a nice fun tune with a nice famous sample. Paul Johnson shows us that its not always about tricks, sometimes a simple beat can carry you a long way.

Finally, we have a monster French House classic by Alan Braxe. This record is Braxe’s very first record released in 1997 on Thomas Bangalter’s critically acclaimed Roulé Records label. It’s also worth noting this is the 3rd record to be released on his label.

Everyday

Yo Boppers.

More classy goodness this week.

I think we all know who could rock these kicks hard!

First up is a Prince sampled/remixed track by Paul Johnson. Very little was done here so as to keep the song in tact. Just a little bit of jack drums and editing make this a perfect track to mix in your set for a Prince throwback.

Paul Johnson - Erotic City

Finally, we have a House anthem by Dajaé. Instead of her frequent collaborator Green Velvet, this time she gets the production treatment from “Felix Stallings”. Although this particular mix is the Junior Jack Main Mix, you still feel the Chicago vibe busting out.

Chicago House

Hey Boppers.

Another week, another beat. Here’s some more House music for you.

mercurius fm mondays Chicago House -

First up we have an ol’ Paul Johnson cut from 1997. To be honest, I had to search on here to make sure I didn’t post this already and I was shocked to see I never posted any Paul Johnson. This isn’t a hit song for him, but its a good example of what he’s good at.

The second song we have is a true Chicago House classic that our very own Felix was probably bopping’ to back in the O.G. House music days. This track was originally by Jamie Principle and became popular when spun by Frankie Knuckles. He then re-made the track with Jamie Principle and it became a House classic.

To wrap things up, I’d like to share with you a remix I did of Fischerspooner (for another contest). Its pretty hard and fun. Listen here.

Have a good week!
