Our first track is a remix by French House master Surkin. This is a sexy chopped up version of Para One’s Midnight Swim. It is quite fun and features a dramatic break down and build in the middle. This track got a lot of play when it was new and is still worth hearing! Check out Marble Players for more Para One x Surkin (x Bobmo).

Another track from “around” the same time… a remix by 80s remix master, Lifelike of indie electro/punk duo The Presets. Its a fairly simple in execution show casing thin reverb laden instrumentation. A great example of Lifelike’s production work when he’s not just doing a regular dance single.

Starting off today with a track off of Basement Jaxx’s second EP from way back in ’95. It has a lot of the things that make us love Basement Jaxx including lots of harmonies, strings, and a jazzy housey feel.

Next, we have a synthy and sexy track by Lil Louis. If you like tracks by artists like Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, then definitely check this out. This is more or less the precursor to that sound in House format.

You may have noticed there was no Mercurius FM Monday this week. We will resume normal posting again next week. I took a break off this week to announce Felix’s new album. Also I wanted to make an announcement for my first official remix release which just came out on PACHA RECORDINGS. Its a remix of dance music veteran AZZIDO DA BASS.

Next up, we have the French House classic and ultimate (?) romance jam, In Love With You. Produced by Alan Braxe and Romuald under the alias The Paradise, this track is full of lush harmonies and a sweet chorus. Very nice track to finish up your set with.

Yet another installment of Mercurius FM Monday. Dropping some big boys here.

This is Daft Punk’s debut release. As you can hear, its the perfect precursor to their monster album, Homework. This is a very aggressive techno track which builds up slowly into a hard hitting banger. Its worth mentioning, that this track is an early version of Alive. Very fun and minimal production make this a good hitter for techno-heads.

Next up we have a remix of legendary rock band, Led Zeppelin. This remix is by Dirty Funker who has a good rep for remixing rock classics into Ibiza ready floor slayers. I normally hate remixes of songs like this, but found this one to be acceptable if not wholly enjoyable due to the fact that it kept the feeling and overall tone of the original.

Finally in closing, I will plug my own remix of Kavinsky’s hit single, NIGHTCALL. You can listen to it below. I made for the remix contest is he having in part with Record Makers.
