Le Knight Club – From 1998 to Now

artistandmusic l 6889b57ac7994f90b7bb9db7b9495aca Le Knight Club From 1998 to Now

Le Knight Club - Troobadoor 1998

“Daft Punk divided by two is Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo” And for those who don’t know Le Knight Club is Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo & Éric Chedeville. They have been working together for 13 years under their own label Crydamoure (translated Cry of Love).

Le Knight Club - Nymphae Song 10 April 2002

Described as a “French House style with a Disco touch” but enough with the formalities check out the chunes for yourselves!

David Guetta - Stay (Le Knight Club remix) 2004

As promised we are starting with their 1998 original tune and working our way through 10 April 2002, to their remix of David Guetta in 2004.

Le Knight Club - Soul Bells (Darius edit)

Then of course we are including the most present tune, a Darius edit of Soul Bells.

Anyways, Boppernation is doing its best to keep things House and get back to the roots. Electro is everywhere everywhere everywhere and can be found on any blog, not discrediting it in any shape or form, hey I still love it and still will post it, but let us give it up for House..or bring it down!!!!!!

Thanks to On the Spur of the Moment

Stay

Hey Boppers!

I’ve got some more goodies for you. Took me some time to pick out which tracks this week, but turned up with some more gems.

mercurius fm mondays Stay

Art by Melissa B

-

Our first track is by French House master, Sebastien Leger. Its a hard funky house track featuring Bopper favorite, Junior Sanchez. The intense groove on this track is sure to get people moving. Also worth noting, Leger is known to produce with all hardware… so real samplers, real drum machines, etc.

Sébastien Léger - No Problem (Ft Junior Sanchez)

-

It may come as a surprise to many Americans, but David Guetta actually made music before 2009. All jokes aside, this here is a remix of an old David Guetta single from 2004 as remixed by Le Knight Club (I don’t think I need to reintroduce them again). I really loved this track when I first heard it. It features very nice production, although minimalist in design, and a very dramatic vibe.

Catch you next time Boppers.

Syncopated

Hi Boppers.

To start off the week, I will bless you with some refreshing House Music.

First, we have a nice, long, repetitive dance tune by half-Daft’s, Le Knight Club. Its a remix of the Japanese electronic producer Fantastic Plastic Machine. The great thing about this remix, as with most Le Knight Club production, is how warm and syncopated it is, yet packing a tight thumpy kick in the mix. Fun track for sure.

Fantastic Plastic Machine - Philosophy (Le Knight Club Remix)

-

So if that last track wasn’t enough, now I have a remix of French House master’s Cassius, by international producer extraordinaire, Stuart Price… aka Les Rythmes Digitales. Super beat coupled with a super bassline, featuring a super funk sample. Its a win win situation for us all.

Cassius - Feeling For You (Les Rythmes Digitales Dreamix Short Remix)

-

Thats it for now folks. In the horizon, I’m planning a new post for BN that will feature new music produced the way I like it. Also, another shameless self plug, check out my remix of Kavinsky’s NIGHTCALL. Its for his remix contest with Record Makers.

First song is nice House track proudly showcasing a talk box performance with a complete 80s funk vibe. Massive remix by Junior Jack which is good for large club environments. Nice long breakdown and classic TR-909 drums. Definitely a groove track.

DJD Presents the Hydraulic Dogs - Shake It baby (Junior Jack 12 inch remix)

-

What? Another Le Knight Club remix? You bet your sweet candy ass it is. This is a particularly great track because of all the energy in it, but also because its very simple. I like these type of trax alot and who better to display minimalist (artistically) production at best than Daft Punk? I will be playing this at the party on Monday for sure.

Raw Man - Nmber Seven (Le Knight Club remix)

-

See you soon! Should also have some exciting updates next week.

Thick

Hiya Bopperzz.

On this post we have a nice eclectic selection of trax. Both are very nice to listen to and enjoy and might also make some nice dancefloor moments.

First up is an instrumental by Space Cowboy circa 2003. This track was on the latter half his album Across The Sky and also included as a b-side to his hit remix of Prince’s I Would Die 4 U. Its buzzy bassline, coupled with emotional harmonies make this a very enjoyable track. Buy original album here.

Space Cowboy - Always and Forever

-

I can never get over how fantastic this track sounds.. The bass is so amazing. This is a remix by Daft Punk side project, Le Knight Club, of Felix Da Housecat favorite, Zoot Woman. This single was massive back in 2004 and also featured a stunning remix by Todd Edwards. The production here is truly great and also worth mentioning for all you Daft Punk fans that Guy-Manuel will seemingly be producing Kavinsky’s next single. Buy original album here.

Have a great weeeeeeek!

Happy Festivus and Other Stuff

Happy Holidays to all the Boppers!

Today, we have quite the post… mostly Daft Punk related, but thats not a bad thing, right?

mercurius fm mondays artistandmusic IMG 1053 1 Happy Festivus and Other Stuff

Here is a fantastic live version of Daft Punk’s Rock’n Roll. Its from 1997, recorded at Le Rex Club in Paris. Back then, the boys used to go on stage with about 7 grand worth of equipment and no computers. Everything was just MIDI synced, basically recreating their studio setup. When I make a techno tune this is exactly where I’m coming from.

Daft Punk - Rockn' Roll (Live @ Rex Club)

Next up is a Christmas themed House track by none other than Le Knight Club. You know I’m real keen on these tracks and normally I wouldn’t be so heavy on them, but given the season, I’m ok with it.

Le Knights Club - Santa Claus

Finally, as a treat for the Holidays, I turned to my personal Disco source, the one I call when I need a new sample, my fellow funkateer, Melissa B, for a special holiday Disco groove.

Larry Dixon - So Gifted

As she puts it…
It makes you feel special and unique. It lifts you up to where you should always be I think. Well at least me, it makes me happy.

Everyone have a safe and happy holiday. I know sometimes stuff gets tough, but try to be happy with what you have. Most importantly, be happy that you’re alive, because in the end, you’ve only got yourself and thats the greatest gift of all.

Needs No Correction

YO BOPPERS!

Its Monday… you know what that means, more funky House music!

First, a quick recap of Friday where I saw MSTRKRFT play in Vegas and kill it so hard!

Here are a few pics from the night…

More pics HERE. / Photos out of club by Hew Burney / Gig photos by me

Now for the music! First up is Le Knight Club, the side project of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk. Need I say more? Yes, actually. He’s half of Daft Punk, he produced Sebastien Tellier’s stunning album “Sexuality“, and is the co-owner (along with Éric Chedeville) of legendary underground French record label Crydamoure. Enjoy.

Le Knight Club - Tropicall

-

Next up is a House act from New York City known as The Ones. This is the dub mix of there most well known track, Flawless. I particularly like it because of the emphasis on the chorus and how certain things are soloed. Feel free to speed to whatever BPM you like.

The Ones - Flawless (Main Dub)

-

Finally, in closing, I’d like to brag for fellow Boppette, Melissa B, having made a special notebook cover for a website all about unique art! You can see more about it HERE.

Peace out.
