Before the Beginning

Merry Christmas (almost) Boppers.

Welcome back… Today I’m posting 2 remixes of 2 old school protolectrohousedisco jams. The original tunes are well known in thee underground, although these remixes are somewhat lesser known.

First up is Junior Sanchez’s very straight forward House remix of Giorgio Moroder’s timeless classic, The Chase. This is a good remix if you’d like to play out The Chase in a club with some beefed up sound. Its not over the top, but rather a classy and refined remix for your party of choice.

Next, is a remix of German electronic pioneers, Kraftwerk, by French production wiz’s Alex Gopher & Etienne de Crecy. This track is quite energetic featuring Etienne’s signature basslines and Alex Gopher’s keen sense of groove. Its a fun remix to play in an electro house set to remember the beginning of electronic music.

Disco Science

Hey Boppers!

I dug up some real nice goodies here. Most people don’t even know these songs exist (as per my usual posting style).

First up we have a song by Irfane. Some of you may recognize that name from Breakbot’s Baby I’m Yours. Its hard to say what’s better in this song; the sampling work or the nice song over it. Regardless, this is a sweet jam worth listening to a few times. This is the slightly more dance structured version, which I thought made more sense to post.

Next up we have a remix by Italian mastermind and inventor of modern dance music, Giorgio Moroder; no less a remix of Parisian production wiz, Mirwais. Really top notch production and quality on this track. It retains Moroder’s signature sequenced ambient sound but beefed up to a modern sonic palette. Pure class on this track.

I Can Try

Happy Monday Bopperz.

How’s everyone’s new years plans coming along? Mine seem to be going really well and I’ll be able to give updates really soon. Its gonna be amazing… for now though, lets see about classics.

First up, we have old favorites, The Buffalo Bunch, remixing mega Parisian band, Phoenix. Of course, at the time, this was their first album… and their singles were full of French House remixes. We’re basslinin’ on this one.

Finally, we end it with a special track that was made by DJ Sneak. I don’t have much info on this one other than that its ridiculously rad. Definitely a must hear for Giorgio Moroder fans.
