To start things off, I’ve got an old DJ Sneak track from the 90s that features Samuel L Jackson’s famous dialog from the cult classic film, Pulp Fuction. We all know which part. Well here is a housey DJ tool for you. Well done and straight forward.
This part of the post is more of an update to a previous post. A long while back I posted a “DJ Sneak” remix of Donna Summer’s I Feel Love. Well I was wrong about who made it and it was also posted in 200 vbr quality. Rectifying that here is a 320 of this great remix along with the proper naming convention.
The first track today is some tasty Chicago House by the jack master, DJ Sneak. The original version has a fun female vocal, but I went with the instrumental today because its still very good. This track was released only about 5 years ago, yet it has a sort of timeless sound. When most were pumping out grinding basslines, Sneak was keeping it smooth and funky.
Speaking of basslines, this next track is by Raw Man. Featuring tons of real guitar riffs, a funk drenched rhythm section and a Hendrixesque lead solo, not to mention a totally grooving bassline. This is a wonderful track full of great tunes and complexity.
“Los angeles based dubstep embassador, 12th Planet is inviting music producers to join him on a dubstep project on The Public Record to make song from scratch for an upcoming worldwide release on his SMOG label. This project consists of four phases, in which you’re asked to create four different parts for the song: bassline, lead, effects and transitions.
ThePublicRecord.Com is a social and interactive recording site where members can be apart of the music making experience with their favorite artist. Showcasing multiple genres, The Public Record hosts projects with popular and eclectic artists from around the globe by allowing members to submit parts tailored to the requests of the featured artist.
Past projects on The Public Record have included Deadmau5, The Elements, Rob Zombie, Steve Duda , Street Dream Corps, Filter, and Tommy Lee.” [more info here]
We’d be fools to not give full coverage to John’s arrival on the Public Record, we’d be fools not to support anything 12th Planet is doing since he is making soooo much noise in Los Angeles that my friends in Santa Barbara, miles away are begging him to come play.
The music speaks for itself and as promotional partners of Xmix Records, posting a DJ Sneak remix is a must. Enjoy the music, Check out Public Record, go get more 12th Planet, get into SMOG and get John’s ass to your neighborhood or go visit his!
Our first track is a remix of Eddie Amador’s classic House anthem, “House Music”. DJ Sneak takes the track and makes a really jacked up Chicago version with a new baseline and tough drums. The mix is quite long and covers a few different sounds.
Finally, we a track which came out in 1996 from Da Mongoloids only EP. This is of particular significance because it appears recently they’ve come back together, at the very least for DJing. If you don’t know who Da Mongoloids are, they are super collective of House artists and you can learn more here.
I decided to go House heavy on this one again. I guess I always do, but this stuff really is. From Chicago to Paris this post really goes full circle.

Found this while googling robot god.
Firstly, we have a huge disco stomper by robot-god, Thomas Bangalter… This is a very fun and big track, which is still highly playable in modern sets due to the simplicity in production. I really enjoy the build because it gives a very large energy without sounding big room (Zzz..).
So, Shake & Pop. If you’ve never heard this song, just get out. Leave. Just kidding, listen and discover. Shake & Pop is a timeless club anthem. Grimey techno at its best with a simple and fun hook. Here we have the DJ Sneak remix which adds a ridiculous kick drum and locks in the House vibe on it.
How’s everyone’s new years plans coming along? Mine seem to be going really well and I’ll be able to give updates really soon. Its gonna be amazing… for now though, lets see about classics.
First up, we have old favorites, The Buffalo Bunch, remixing mega Parisian band, Phoenix. Of course, at the time, this was their first album… and their singles were full of French House remixes. We’re basslinin’ on this one.
Finally, we end it with a special track that was made by DJ Sneak. I don’t have much info on this one other than that its ridiculously rad. Definitely a must hear for Giorgio Moroder fans.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas/Holiday weekend! Mine was very chill, mostly playing video games and some studio time. How bout you?
I actually got one of these for Christmas!! YES!!
For today’s post we go back to some second generation Chicago House Masters.
First off, a hard synthy House tune from 1997. Lots of driving synth action, some ghetto vocal, and a heavy dose of TR-909. I think this track is quite good and could still be played out today. In fact, I think you should or at the very least, head bob to it on your headphones.
Finally, one of the hardest working House producers, DJ Sneak. He is credited for being one of the defining forces in making filtered disco-influenced House Music a hit in the early 90′s. As a result he inspired such mainstream dance artists as Daft Punk & Basement Jaxx. He’s remixed so many hit songs and made so many records that his Discog’s page is a lengthy read. Here is a track off his artist album.
