I am posting DJ DLG’s song because it is his photo that I am using in collaboration with my argument and this is after-all a music and things need to be relevant to music.
Photo A is promotional for DJ DLG and Photo B is promotional for Transmodus Corporation.
Besides the fact that each of the photos are similar, I would like to know what in the world Photo B is marketing! Is it a person? Clothing? Or maybe even digital design or photography? Turns out neither…
This is Public Relations 101, keep the photo relevant to the product. I understand that ‘Transmodus’ is a business and that it is more in tune with Marketing than Public Relations and I understand that Marketing and Public Relations are NOT the same thing. [Even though there is a fine line...] However, ‘Transmodus’ is in dire need of some PR advice.
When I first saw the ‘Transmodus’ photo, I thought I had found another DJ and one who was copying DJ DLG’s photo. I had no clue that it was a photo for a Corporation that offers a “A Pleasant Solution for Returned Checks.” And with trans, being so similar to the word TRANCE and modus being a sci-fi sounding term the word Transmodus in itself is a very DJ sounding name..especially in conjunction with the photo!
Photo A, DJ DLG’s photo makes complete sense in terms of relevance to the product. It is of a DJ, it is marketing a DJ. Having a person, some flashy sparkly sh!t ["visual representation of the "vibe" of the dancer when they hear music"-DJ DLG] and a striking pose makes perfect sense. But in Photo B, using a picture of a person in a flashy pose with clean clothes has no relevance to the product at all, which is a Check processing automation Corporation.
That being said, DJ DLG’s remix Night By Night by Chromeo is an awesome track. With over 10 minutes in length we get more than enough time to go, “I tell her while we’re at it we can work it night by night.” Please check out more work by DJ DLG, he is an incredible, original artist and has no problems with Public Relations as for Transmodus…they may have a great product, but….
