Revolution

Word up Boppers.

mercurius fm mondays Revolution

This first track is a remix by Boys Noize of Kid Alex… which is him too. So yeah. Tons of sub bass in this track. Its one of those tracks you’d expect to hear in some club in Berlin in the middle of the night. Lots of cool stuff happening here.

Kid Alex – My Conversation (Boys Noize Remix)

-

Next up, we’re basslinin’ with Roger Sanchez (& Junior Sanchez) on his remix of Daft Punk’s Revolution 909. We all know the original track… and this remix is like that but on steroids! The bass is so bangin and the drums are jacked up.

I’ll House U

Hey Boppers.

Going way back today with these tracks.

mercurius fm mondays Ill House U

First up is Armand Van Helden’s remix of Da Funk, which was released in 1995. Daft Punk also used bits of this remix for their live show back then. I think its pretty cool that Daft Punk seeked out remixes by their favorite producers and basically helped them become more known. Cool things happening in this very extended mix.

Daft Punk – Da Funk (Armand Van Helden’s “Ten Minutes of Funk” Mix)

-

Next up is an even older classic by the Jungle Brothers circa 1988. This is a track that sampled other tracks of the time such as Todd Terry’s Can You Party which samples Move your Body by Marshall Jefferson and Can You Feel It by Mr Fingers aka Larry Heard and more… Funny how its all interconnected, but this track brings to it new vocals. Nice party tune.

Lovers Rock

Happy Valentine’s Day Bopperz.

Today I’ve got some pretty jams for me & u. Play ‘em for your Valentine, or just play em for yourself and have a good day.

mercurius fm mondays Lovers Rock

Our first track is a bootleg remix of Daft Punk’s Something About Us. Its named as the Eastar Remix, which there is very little known about. But hey, who cares, this track is really good and really fun!

Daft Punk – Something About Us (Eastar With Brass Remix)

-

Next up, we have the French House classic and ultimate (?) romance jam, In Love With You. Produced by Alan Braxe and Romuald under the alias The Paradise, this track is full of lush harmonies and a sweet chorus. Very nice track to finish up your set with.

The Paradise – In Love With You

-

Bonus track! Here’s my remix of soul legend Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing which I made a few years ago.

Percussion

Yo Boppers.

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving weekend. Here’s some more jams to warm you up.

mercurius fm mondays DJOKO Percussion

To start things off, we have a jam from way back in 1991 by Joey Negro. This track displays the “classic” 90′s House Music sound quite well. Lots of percussion and a nice 808 beat. Enjoy!

Joey Negro - Do What You Feel

-

Finally, here’s a track by half-Daft, Thomas Bangalter. A great energetic cut from his record label, Roule. I always loved the drums on this track. Really lots of fun and good display of minimalist design in music.

Monster Massive

Robot Rock Bootleg by the chilly Cold Blank.

Daft Punk - Robot Rock (Cold Blank remix)

TRON cannot come out sooner, Monster Massive is already here and I’m sneaking in one more tune before the Weekends. The duo who needs no introduction has brought on an awesome, new, and dare I say unique twist to Daft Punk’s famous “Robot Rock.”

Le Knight Club – From 1998 to Now

artistandmusic l 6889b57ac7994f90b7bb9db7b9495aca Le Knight Club From 1998 to Now

Le Knight Club - Troobadoor 1998

“Daft Punk divided by two is Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo” And for those who don’t know Le Knight Club is Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo & Éric Chedeville. They have been working together for 13 years under their own label Crydamoure (translated Cry of Love).

Le Knight Club - Nymphae Song 10 April 2002

Described as a “French House style with a Disco touch” but enough with the formalities check out the chunes for yourselves!

David Guetta - Stay (Le Knight Club remix) 2004

As promised we are starting with their 1998 original tune and working our way through 10 April 2002, to their remix of David Guetta in 2004.

Le Knight Club - Soul Bells (Darius edit)

Then of course we are including the most present tune, a Darius edit of Soul Bells.

Anyways, Boppernation is doing its best to keep things House and get back to the roots. Electro is everywhere everywhere everywhere and can be found on any blog, not discrediting it in any shape or form, hey I still love it and still will post it, but let us give it up for House..or bring it down!!!!!!

Thanks to On the Spur of the Moment
