First song is nice House track proudly showcasing a talk box performance with a complete 80s funk vibe. Massive remix by Junior Jack which is good for large club environments. Nice long breakdown and classic TR-909 drums. Definitely a groove track.

What? Another Le Knight Club remix? You bet your sweet candy ass it is. This is a particularly great track because of all the energy in it, but also because its very simple. I like these type of trax alot and who better to display minimalist (artistically) production at best than Daft Punk? I will be playing this at the party on Monday for sure.

See you soon! Should also have some exciting updates next week.

Hiya Bopperzz.
On this post we have a nice eclectic selection of trax. Both are very nice to listen to and enjoy and might also make some nice dancefloor moments.

First up is an instrumental by Space Cowboy circa 2003. This track was on the latter half his album Across The Sky and also included as a b-side to his hit remix of Prince’s I Would Die 4 U. Its buzzy bassline, coupled with emotional harmonies make this a very enjoyable track. Buy original album here.

I can never get over how fantastic this track sounds.. The bass is so amazing. This is a remix by Daft Punk side project, Le Knight Club, of Felix Da Housecat favorite, Zoot Woman. This single was massive back in 2004 and also featured a stunning remix by Todd Edwards. The production here is truly great and also worth mentioning for all you Daft Punk fans that Guy-Manuel will seemingly be producing Kavinsky’s next single. Buy original album here.

Bonjour Boppers.
I decided to go House heavy on this one again. I guess I always do, but this stuff really is. From Chicago to Paris this post really goes full circle.

Found this while googling robot god.
Firstly, we have a huge disco stomper by robot-god, Thomas Bangalter… This is a very fun and big track, which is still highly playable in modern sets due to the simplicity in production. I really enjoy the build because it gives a very large energy without sounding big room (Zzz..).
Thomas Bangalter - Colossus

So, Shake & Pop. If you’ve never heard this song, just get out. Leave. Just kidding, listen and discover. Shake & Pop is a timeless club anthem. Grimey techno at its best with a simple and fun hook. Here we have the DJ Sneak remix which adds a ridiculous kick drum and locks in the House vibe on it.

Welcome Boppers
Hope everyone is doing ok and moving about. I’m actually writing this post while listening to heavy metal… Sometimes its good to cross-pollinate as a friend of mine says. With that said, I have 2 very funky tracks to share with you, both happen to be remixes that came out in 2005! Wow does that seem long ago…

First track is a re-edit of Basement Jaxx’s filter house tune Jus 1 Kiss. A track off their massive hit album, Rooty. Overall, its just an extended and more dancefloor friendly version by bopper favorite Boris Dlugosch along side Michi Lange. This track came off the US CD single of Where’s Your Head At?

Finally, a remix by one of my personal favorites… MSTRKRFT, of my other personal favorite band… Death From Above 1979. Recently, I got really nostalgic and decided to buy a T-Shirt of DFA79… so I figured this was a good way to top that off. With that said, theres also been talk on the MSTRKRFT MSGBRD about Jesse starting his own record label for the purposes of releasing awesome dance tunes designed to CRUSH dancefloors. I have heard some of the tracks and I am quite quite impressed. More on this to follow. This remix was found on the Death From Above remix LP, Romance Bloody Romance.

Time for a special installment of Mercurius FM Mondays… in this issue we get some Chicago House action and some nice dream Euro synthy House.
-
Our warm up track today is by Chicago born singer, Kim English. I first discovered this song years ago as a rip from a Todd Edwards DJ set. It’s got a really fun and catchy chorus. The production is classic 1994 House style, with lots of watery rhodes and Jackin’ drums.
Kim English - Nitelife (Encore)
-
The next track is a real synthy and dreamy one remixed by Ernest Saint Laurent. The original is something that we all know and have heard in caveman commercials… This version was playlisted by Thomas Bangalter, DJ Falcon, & Cassius as part of their TOGETHER Tour in the earlier part of 2000’s.

Yooo Boppernation
Welcome to this installment of Mercurius FM Monday… we’ve been going strong for a while now, but don’t think I’m running out of posts. There’s still tons more classics to share with you.
Our first track is a classic cut from French House rockers, Archigram. This came out in 2003 on the legendary Crydamoure record label. It’s main musical component is fantastically sampled and then layered in with some thick house beats and buzzing synths. As with all of Archigram’s trax, its a very moody and overdrive drenched track, giving it a very raw and dirty sound.
Archigram - Doggystyle
-
Stuart Price, Jacques Lu Cont, Les Rythmes Digitales, Pour Homme, Thin White Duke… Man With Guitar. These are all the same person. The Man With Guitar alias was only used on a single release on Kitsuné. It was later revived for a remix/edit of Madonna (of which the original was produced by Stuart Price also). Its said Stuart Price was one of the first people to use a white noise sweep in his builds… thats amazing!

To close things up, here is a link to download a Promo Mix I made. Its a nice blend of House & Techno. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on my EP in the next weeks, plus a very special mix set just for Boppernation.

Happy Monday Bopperz.
How’s everyone’s new years plans coming along? Mine seem to be going really well and I’ll be able to give updates really soon. Its gonna be amazing… for now though, lets see about classics.

First up, we have old favorites, The Buffalo Bunch, remixing mega Parisian band, Phoenix. Of course, at the time, this was their first album… and their singles were full of French House remixes. We’re basslinin’ on this one.

Finally, we end it with a special track that was made by DJ Sneak. I don’t have much info on this one other than that its ridiculously rad. Definitely a must hear for Giorgio Moroder fans.
