Original Hell Post

Dj Hell u a Liar. U got clearance from @iamdiddy but u didn’t get permission from me fuker! I produced dat shit what a jerk!” -FDHC Tweet

After the smoke has cleared: According to Gigolo Diddy gave authorization (statement here) to Hell to use the sample. However, this response still does not address the fact that the sample was recorded by Felix Da Housecat in 2003. This is the second time that Hell has went around/cut out Felix Da Housecat. In other news….Hell and Felix will both be in Paris on September 25 performing in the same venue (this friday).. By the way Soulwax used the sample in 2005.

DJ Hell Jackin’ U Felix?

DJ Hell has a track titled ‘The DJ Ft. P Diddy,’ it is the third track off his latest album ‘Tseufelswerk.’ In this track Hell uses a style very similar to Felix Da Housecat’s ‘Lectro Black‘ mixtape, which was recorded with Diddy and released early this summer. It turns out Hell created this song from a recording of Diddy that was done in 2003 by Felix Da Housecat. In this original recording, which is available here, Diddy mentions Felix’s name within the first couple seconds. However, in Hell’s version those parts where Diddy mentions Felix are cut out…in fact Felix Da Housecat isn’t even mentioned at all.

Included on our website is a link to DJ Hell’s music video (click here) , myspace (click here) and myspace blog (click here) where one can hear him using Felix & Diddy’s original recording to create his third single ‘The DJ.’ As anyone can see, DJ Hell created this song using Felix & Diddy’s parts, but what wasn’t made public until now is that DJ Hell did all of this without permission or any recognition of Felix Da Housecat. And we are more than certain that he did NOT receive any permission from Diddy either. (a recent statement by Gigolo records says Hell had clearance from Diddy (article here) “Close readers will see that Hell doesn’t outright deny any wrongdoing exactly”

We are updating information as we receive it. Currently Bopper Nation is giving a heads up to Resident Advisor (article here) and everyone else involved because DJ Hell has been selling this song along with his album on Amazon, Itunes and Beatport without permission and without recognition of Felix Da Housecat.

    Diva’s bitchfest. Ego fight. Worthless.

Anyway, ‘The DJ’ is tawdry, whether created by Hell or whoever else.
